ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Groveton Road

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 East from Route 234 Business to Bull Run

Wednesday, September 9, through Friday, September 11: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for paving operations.

 

I-66 West from Bull Run to Route 234 Business

Tuesday, September 8, through Thursday, September 10: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

Route 28 North and South between E.C. Lawrence Park Athletic Fields and Route 29

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 28 North and South will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction for bridge beam placement at Braddock Road/Walney Road. Two-way traffic will run on the southbound lanes of Route 28. Additional Details

 

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, continue south to Route 29 North, then stay to the right for Route 28 North.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then join the detour for the I-66 West to Route 28 North (Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, then stay to the right for Route 28 North.).

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East 

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp and two left turn lanes from Route 28 South to I-66 East will be closed. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right for Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

 

Braddock Road East between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Eastbound Braddock Road will be closed between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28. Traffic will be directed to Westfields Boulevard to access Route 28 South.

 

Route 28 North at I-66

Ongoing

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 will remain closed to provide an extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The right lane will be closed for overhead bridge work.

Rose Forest Drive between Route 123 and Rosehaven Street

Starting Tuesday, September 8, through Tuesday, September 15

The road will be closed for underground utility relocation.  Traffic will be detoured to Jermantown Road. Additional Details

 

I-66 East and West between Nutley Street and Route 123

Tuesday, September 8, through Thursday, September 10: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes on eastbound I-66 and two lanes on westbound I-66 will be closed for crews to shift barrier, implement pavement markings and perform utility work.

 

Ramp from Route 123 North and South to I-66 West

Thursday, September 10: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, to Nutley Street North, then stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 West.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, to Route 50 East, then stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 East.

I-66 West from Gallows Road to Cedar Lane

Friday, September 11: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation and overhead bridge work at Cedar Lane.  Drivers should expected periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes on Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and Thursday, Sept. 10, from 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly, and on Friday, Sept. 11, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

 

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation and overhead bridge work at Cedar Lane.  Drivers should expected periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes on Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 9, and Thursday, Sept. 10, from 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly, and on Friday, Sept. 11, from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

 

I-66 West from Route 7 to Gallows Road

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation and overhead bridge work at Gallows Road. Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic of up to 20 minutes stoppages between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and between 10 p.m. and 3:30am on weeknights.

 

Ramp from I-495 North Express Lane to I-66 West

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East, to the exit for Route 7, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal, stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 50 West, stay to the right and exit to Gallows Road North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29/Lee Highway, stay to the right and turn right onto Nutley Street, to follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Gallows Road between Belleforest Drive and Stenhouse Place

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Tuesday, September 15: 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Gallows Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction during overnight hours for bridge beam installation for new Gallows Road Bridge. Two-way traffic will run on Gallows Road South.

 

Prosperity Avenue between Merilee Drive and Hilltop Drive

Tuesday, September 8, through Saturday, September 12: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Flagging operation for underground water line relocation.

 

I-66 East from Gallows Road to I-495

Tuesday, September 8, through Friday, September 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed for crews to set barrier and mobilize equipment.
