ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Route 234 Business (Sudley Rd)

Monday, September 30 – Thursday, October 3: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Virginia State Police will pace eastbound and westbound traffic in this area to a slow roll, with temporary stoppages possible, for blasting operations along I-66 between University Boulevard and Prince William Parkway. Slow roll conditions should last for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, stoppages will also occur on northbound Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) just north of the exit to I-66 East and from Route 29 in Gainesville to I-66 East starting at 11 a.m.

Tuesday, October 1 – Wednesday, October 2: midnight to 4 a.m.

Overnight ramp closure for crews reconfigure barrier on the ramp. Traffic will be detoured to the Sudley Road (Route 234 Business) interchange, where they will turn left onto northbound Sudley Road, and then turn left at the light onto westbound I-66 back to Prince William Parkway.

Monday, September 30 – Thursday, October 3: 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 4 – Saturday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Two lanes closed for paving operations. 

 

I-66 West from Route 29 Centreville to Route 234 Business

Sunday, September 29: 9 p.m.to 5 a.m.

Monday, September 30 – Thursday, October 3: 9 p.m. to 10 a.m.

Friday, October 4 – Saturday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Tuesday, October 1 – Friday, October 4: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sunday, September 29– Thursday, October 3: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. of I-66 East at Route 28 each night for crews to lift bridge beams into place over the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North. Additionally, the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 South will also be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.  All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning.

Sunday, September 29 – Thursday, October 3: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

There will be a  full closure of Route 28 North at I-66 each night for crews to install bridge beams over Route 28.  The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North will also be closed. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.

Sunday, September 29 – Thursday, October 3: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed each night for crews to install bridge beams over Route 28.  The ramp and two left turn lanes from Route 28 South to I-66 East will also be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Traffic will be detoured south on Route 28 to the Route 29 (Lee Highway) interchange, exit to Route 29 North, then stay right to take Route 28 North to the ramp for I-66 East.

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY)

I-66 West from I-495 to Gallows Road

Sunday, September 29– Saturday, October 5: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two left lanes closed on westbound I-66 for new Gallows Road bridge construction in center median.  The ramp from the northbound I-495 Express Lanes to westbound I-66 will be closed nightly.  I-495 Express Lane North traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East to the Route 7 (Leesburg), take a left off the exit and stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West.

Friday, October 4: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two left lanes of I-66 West and three lanes of I-66 East will be closed.  Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages on I-66 East and West and on the ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West between midnight and 4 a.m. for crews to relocate overhead Cox Communications lines.
