ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 East and West between Groveton Road and Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)

Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

I-66 East from Route 29 Gainesville and Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)

Ongoing, starting Monday, September 14

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 10 a.m. and 4 a.m. daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 East and West between Groveton Road and Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)

I-66 East from Bull Run Rest Area to Bull Run Drive

Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed for overhead bridge work.

 

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business South

Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, September 18: 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Drivers will be directed to take the exit for Route 234 Business North, turn right at the traffic signal on to Battleview Parkway, turn right on Infantry Ridge Road, and then left on Battleview Parkway back to Route 234 Business South.

 

Ramp from Route 234 Business to I-66 West

Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, September 18: 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Drivers will be detoured to Route 29 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.   As an alternate route, drivers on Route 234 Business South can turn right on Balls Ford Road,  and drivers on Route 234 Business North can turn left on Balls Ford Road, turn left on to Prince William Parkway North, then stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 West

 

 

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Groveton Road

Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

I-66 West from Route 28 to Route 29 Centreville

Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Friday, September 18: 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for crews to implement a traffic shift and for paving and survey operations.

 

Route 29 North at I-66

9 p.m. Friday, September 11, through 4 a.m. Monday, September 14

Route 29 North will be reduced to one travel lane.   Starting around 6 a.m. Saturday, September 15, through 4 a.m. Monday, September 14, the left turn and ramp from Route 29 North to I-66 East will also be closed.  Drivers will continue farther north to the intersection of Trinity Parkway/Machen Road. At the traffic signal, drivers will use the left-most of the two left-turn lanes to make a U-turn onto Route 29 South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East. As an alternate route, drivers can continue farther north to Route 28 North, stay to the right, and follow signs to I-66 East.

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Braddock Road between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28

Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18: 11 a.m. to noon

Route 28 North at I-66

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 will remain closed to provide an extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The right lane will be closed for overhead bridge work.

 

I-66 West from Route 50 to Route 286

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, September 18: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for bridge work. 

 

Rose Forest Drive between Route 123 and Rosehaven Street

Starting Tuesday, September 8, through Tuesday, September 15

The road will be closed for underground utility relocation.  Traffic will be detoured to Jermantown Road.

 

I-66 East and West between Jermantown Road and Blake Lane

Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East and West will be reduced to one travel lane approaching Route 123 for overhead utility work.  On Sunday night, Sept. 13, and Monday night, Sept. 14, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m., traffic on I-66 will be stopped in both directions simultaneously three times for up to 20 minutes each for overhead utility relocation.

 

I-66 East from Blake Lane to Gallows Road

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

I-66 West from Gallows Road to Cedar Lane

Monday, September 15, through Friday, September 18: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work at Cedar Lane.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

I-66 East from Nutley Street to Cedar Lane

Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for crews to remove equipment at the new Cedar Lane Bridge. Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.

 

I-66 West from Gallows Road to Vaden Drive

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work at Cedar Lane.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for crews to remove equipment at the new Cedar Lane Bridge. Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

I-66 West from Route 7 to Gallows Road

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation and overhead bridge work at Gallows Road. Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic of up to 20 minutes stoppages between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and between 10 p.m. and 3:30am on weeknights.

 

Ramp from I-495 North Express Lane to I-66 West

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East, to the exit for Route 7, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal, stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 16: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 50 West, stay to the right and exit to Gallows Road North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29/Lee Highway, stay to the right and turn right onto Nutley Street, to follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Gallows Road between Belleforest Drive and Stenhouse Place

Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12: 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Monday, September 14, through Tuesday, September 15: 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Gallows Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction during overnight hours for bridge beam installation for new Gallows Road Bridge. Two-way traffic will run on Gallows Road South.

 

I-66 East from Gallows Road to I-495

Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed for crews to set barrier and mobilize equipment.

 

I-495 North from Route 29 to I-66

Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 18: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for bridge construction.

 

I-66 West from Gallows Road to Vaden Drive
