ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

University Boulevard North over I-66

Starting Monday, October 7 for approximately 6 months

Long-term closure of single right lane on northbound University Boulevard over I-66 for crews to demolish barrier and widen the bridge deck to accommodate future access ramps for the Express Lanes on the east side of the University Boulevard bridge.

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

Monday, October 7 – Tuesday, October 8: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Single lane closure on ramp for crews to implement lane shifts on the ramp. Drivers should expect occasional 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns on the ramp.

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Monday, October 7 – Friday, October 11: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Virginia State Police will pace eastbound and westbound traffic in this area to a slow roll, with temporary stoppages possible, for blasting operations along I-66 between Route 29 in Centreville and Stringfellow Road. Slow roll conditions should last for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, stoppages will also occur on the ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West and the ramp from Route 29 Centreville to I-66 East starting at 11 a.m.

Sunday, October 6– Thursday, October 10: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. of I-66 East at Route 28 each night for crews to lift bridge beams into place over the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North. Additionally, the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 South will also be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.  All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning.

Sunday, October 6 – Thursday, October 10: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

There will be a  full closure of Route 28 North at I-66 each night for crews to install bridge beams over Route 28.  The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North will also be closed. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.

Sunday, October 6 – Thursday, October 10: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed each night for crews to install bridge beams over Route 28.  The ramp and two left turn lanes from Route 28 South to I-66 East will also be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Traffic will be detoured south on Route 28 to the Route 29 (Lee Highway) interchange, exit to Route 29 North, then stay right to take Route 28 North to the ramp for I-66 East.

Monday, October 7  – Thursday, October 10: 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 11 – Saturday, October 12: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Two lanes closed for paving operations. 

I-66 West from Route 29 Centreville to Compton Road

Monday, October 7 – Friday, October 11: 9p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two right lanes closed for crews to construct new bridge abutment and drive piles on Compton Road to support the widening of the I-66 bridge over Compton Road.

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY)

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY)

I-66 West from I-495 to Gallows Road

Ramp from I-495 North Express Lanes to I-66 West

Sunday, October 6– Saturday, October 12: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two left lanes closed on westbound I-66 for new Gallows Road bridge construction in center median.  The ramp from the northbound I-495 Express Lanes to westbound I-66 will be closed nightly.  I-495 Express Lane North traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East to the Route 7 (Leesburg), take a left off the exit and stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West.
