ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 East from Route 29 Gainesville and Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open. Between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open.

 

University Boulevard North at I-66

Tuesday, October 6, through Thursday, October 8: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Traffic will be slow rolled for barrier removal.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 East from Route 29 Gainesville and Route 234 Business (Sudley Road)

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 10 a.m. and 4 a.m. daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Groveton Road

Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 West from Cub Run to Route 234 Business

The HOV lane will be closed for paving operations.

 

I-66 West from Bull Run to Route 234 Business

Tuesday, October 6, through Thursday, October 8: 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for paving and survey operations.

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Braddock Road between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28

Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 9: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

Ramp from Route 29 Centreville to I-66 East

Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic on Route 29 North will be directed to Route 28 North to I-66 East.  Traffic on Route 29 South will be directed to continue on Route 29 South, make a U-turn at Stone Road, then follow signs to I-66 East.

 

I-66 West from Route 29 Centreville to Cub Run

The HOV lane will be closed for paving operations.

 

I-66 West from Route 29 Centreville to Bull Run

Monday, October 5, through Thursday, October 4: 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Friday, October 5: 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for paving and survey operations.

 

I-66 West from Cub Run to Route 234 Business

The HOV lane will be closed for paving operations.

 

I-66 West from Route 28 to Route 29 Centreville

Friday, October 9, and Sunday, October 11: 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.

The right lane will be closed for bridge work.

 

I-66 East at Cub Run

Starting around 9 p.m. Friday, October 9, through 4 a.m. Monday, October 12

The right lane will be closed for bridge work.

 

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Braddock Road between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28

Monday, September 28, through Friday, October 2: 11 a.m. to noon

Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 9: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work at Braddock Road/Walney Road.

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 will remain closed to provide an extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North between Centreville Farms Road and Northbourne Drive

Wednesday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Stringfellow Road will be reduced to two lanes, one in each direction for paving operations.  The two open travel lanes will use the southbound lanes of Stringfellow Road.

 

Stringfellow Road South between Northbourne Drive and Centreville Farms Road

Thursday, October 8: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Stringfellow Road will be reduced to two lanes, one in each direction for paving operations.  The two open travel lanes will use the southbound lanes of Stringfellow Road.

 

Ramp from Stringfellow Road to I-66 East

Ramp from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road

Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, October 9, through 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 13

The ramps will be closed to paving and striping.  Upon reopening the ramps will be converted from alternating, one-way travel to full-time, two-way travel separated by flexible road bollards.

 

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Monday, October 5, through Friday, October 9: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The right lane will be closed for bridge work.

 

I-66 West from Route 50 to Route 286

The HOV lane will be closed for roadway widening work.

I-66 East and West between West Ox Road and Jermantown Road

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for paving and barrier placement.

 

Right Turn Lane from Route 123 South to Rose Forest Drive

The right turn lane will be closed for Verizon utility line relocation.

 

I-66 East from Blake Lane to Cedar Lane

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street

Sunday, October 4, through Friday, October 9: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be directed to continue west on I-66, take the exit for the Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Metro, stay to the right onto Country Creek Road, continue on to Virginia Center Boulevard, and turn left at the traffic signal to Nutley Street North.

Tuesday, October 6, through Thursday, October 8: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work.

Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages between midnight to 4 a.m.

 

I-66 East from Nutley Street to Cedar Lane

Thursday, October 8, through Saturday, October 10: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for crews to implement lane shifts.

 

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Ongoing through November

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.

 

I-66 West from Gallows Road to Vaden Drive

Prosperity Avenue at Dorr Avenue

Sunday, October 4, through Saturday, October 10: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Flagging operation for underground utility work.

 

Dorr Avenue at Prosperity Avenue

Dorr Avenue will be closed at Prosperity Avenue for underground utility work.  Traffic will be detoured to Merrifield Avenue, Merrilee Drive, and Prosperity Avenue.    Dorr Avenue south of Prosperity Avenue will remain open to local traffic.

 

I-495 North and South between Route 7 and Route 29

Monday, October 5, through Thursday, October 8: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for bridge construction.
