ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

University Boulevard North and South from I-66 to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Gainesville

Monday, October 4, through Friday, October 8: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One lane will be closed for roadway construction.

 

Route 29 North and South from University Boulevard to Heathcote Boulevard

Monday, October 4, through Friday, October 8: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One lane will be closed for roadway construction.

 

I-66 West from Groveton Road to Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway)

Monday, October 4, through Saturday, October 9: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The left travel lane will be closed for paving.

 

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Cub Run

Daily through Friday, October 29: Eastbound 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m./Westbound 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

One lane will be closed for lighting and utility work.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West between Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) and Groveton Road

Sunday, October 3, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for paving.

 

I-66 West from Groveton Road to Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway)

Monday, October 4, through Saturday, October 9: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The left travel lane will be closed for paving.

 

I-66 East and West from Route 29 (Lee Highway) Gainesville to Cub Run

Daily through Friday, October 29: Eastbound 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m./Westbound 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

One lane will be closed for lighting and utility work.

 

ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 West at Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for concrete deck pour.

 

I-66 East from Cub Run to Route 29 Centreville

Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for a traffic shift.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 North and South Centreville

Thursday night, October 7: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 28 North, stay to the left to Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal onto Braddock Road West, follow signs to turn left to the ramp to I-66 West, then take I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville.

 

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Cub Run

Daily through Friday, October 29: Eastbound 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m./Westbound 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

One lane will be closed for lighting and utility work.

 

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

Route 28South from former E.C. Lawrence Park Entrance to I-66

Sunday, October 3, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for a traffic shift.

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North

Monday night, October 4, through Thursday night, October 7: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed exit to Route 28 South, then take the exit to Route 29 North, and stay to the right to Route 28 North.

 

Route 28 North at I-66

Ongoing

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 will remain closed to provide an extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Friday, October 1, and Saturday, October 2: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sunday, October 3, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 8, and Saturday, October 9: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Stringfellow Road will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes during the overnight hours.

 

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Monday, October 4, through Friday, October 8: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The right lane will be closed for signal construction.

 

I-66 East from Route 286 to Route 50

Wednesday, October 6, and Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for striping.

 

Ramps from Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North and South to I-66 East

Wednesday night, October 6, and Thursday night, October 7: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramps will be closed. Traffic from both directions will be directed to Route 50 East (Route 286 South traffic will be notified prior to the closure/Route 286 North traffic will continue farther north), travel about two miles then follow signs to I-66 East.

 

I-66 East from Stringfellow Road to Monument Drive

Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for a striping.

 

I-66 East from Route 286 to Waples Mill Road

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes during the overnight hours.

Monday, October 4, through Wednesday, October 6: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work and utility work. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes during the overnight hours.

 

I-66 West from Route 123 to Jermantown Road

Monday, October 4, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work.

 

I-66 East from Route 123 to Vaden Drive

Tuesday, October 5, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for wall work.

 

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

I-66 West from Nutley Street to Vaden Drive

Friday, October 1, and Saturday, October 2: 9:30 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for a traffic shift.

 

Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, October 1, continuously through 5 a.m. Monday, October 4

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed farther north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the intersection with Virginia Center Boulevard, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Nutley Street North and South over I-66

Beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, October 1, continuously through 5 a.m. Monday, October 4

Nutley Street will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction for a traffic shift on the bridge over I-66.

 

I-66 West from Nutley Street to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road)

Sunday, October 3: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes during the overnight hours.

 

 

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY) / DUNN LORING

I-66 West at I-495

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work.

 

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be reduced to one lane for overhead bridge work.

 

I-66 East at I-495

Monday, October 4, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for cantilever removal and steel delivery on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights.  On Wednesday night, three lanes will be closed for removal of overhead gantry.  Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes during the overnight hours Wednesday.

 

I-66 West from I-495 to Nutley Street

Monday, October 4, through Thursday, October 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for installation of permanent handrail along the shared-use path.

 

I-495 North at I-66

Wednesday, October 6, and Thursday, October 7: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes during the overnight hours.

 

495 Express Lanes South approaching I-66

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 8, through Monday, October 11: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The southbound express lanes will be closed approaching I-66. Overhead variable message boards will direct traffic to an alternate route.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to the 495 Express Lanes South

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 8, through Monday, October 11: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Overhead variable message boards will direct traffic to an alternate route.

 

Ramp from the 495 Express Lanes South to I-66 West

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 8, through Monday, October 11: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Overhead variable message boards in the Express Lanes will direct traffic to an alternate route.

 

Ramp from I-66 West to the 495 Express Lanes South

Monday, October 4, and Tuesday, October 5: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 8, through Monday, October 11: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Overhead variable message boards will direct traffic to an alternate route.

 

I-495 South at I-66

Friday, October 8: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Saturday, October 9: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Sunday, October 10: 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work.  On Friday and Saturday nights from midnight to 5 a.m. and on Sunday night from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., there will be a full closure of southbound I-495 at I-66.  All traffic will be direct to take the exit to I-66 West, continue west to the exit for Nutley Street, stay to the left to exit to Nutley Street South and turn left at the traffic signal onto southbound Nutley Street, then stay to the right to exit to I-66 East, and follow signs to I-495 South.

Friday night, October 8, and Saturday night, October 9: Midnight to 5 a.m.

Sunday, October 10: 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be directed further west to the exit for Nutley Street, stay to the left to exit to Nutley Street South and turn left at the traffic signal onto southbound Nutley Street, then stay to the right to exit to I-66 East, and follow signs to I-495 South.
