ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

University Boulevard North over I-66

Monday, October 14 – Saturday, October 18: 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Periodic fifteen minute stoppages of the single left lane of northbound University Boulevard over I-66.   The right lane of northbound University Boulevard over I-66 remains closed for approximately 6 months for crews to demolish barrier and widen the bridge deck to accommodate future access ramps for the Express Lanes on the east side of the University Boulevard bridge.

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

No significant traffic impacts scheduled.

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 West from Stringfellow Road to Route 28

Sunday, October 13 – Tuesday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three left lanes closed for overhead bridge work.

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

Friday, October 11: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Sunday, October 13: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Wednesday, October 16 – Thursday, October 17: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 South will be closed for crews to install bridge beams.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.  All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning.

Friday, October 11: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Sunday, October 13: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

There will be a  full closure of Route 28 North at I-66 each night for crews to install bridge beams over Route 28.  The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North will also be closed. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.

Wednesday, October 16 – Thursday, October 17: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed on northbound Route 28.  Drivers should expect periodic 20 minute stoppages and slowdowns.

Route 28 South between Braddock Road and I-66

Friday, October 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Sunday, October 13 – Tuesday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed each night for crews to install bridge beams over Route 28.  The ramp and two left turn lanes from Route 28 South to I-66 East will also be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.  Traffic will be detoured south on Route 28 to the Route 29 (Lee Highway) interchange, exit to Route 29 North, then stay right to take Route 28 North to the ramp for I-66 East.

Tuesday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for crews to shift travel lanes.  Drivers should expect periodic 20 minute stoppages and slowdowns.

Wednesday, October 16 – Thursday, October 17: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three left lanes closed for overhead bridge work

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West

Wednesday, October 16 – Friday, October 18: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Virginia State Police will pace eastbound and westbound traffic in this area to a slow roll, with temporary stoppages possible, for blasting operations along I-66 between Route 29 in Centreville and Stringfellow Road. Slow roll conditions should last for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, stoppages will also occur on the ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West and the ramp from Route 29 Centreville to I-66 East starting at 11 a.m.

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY)

Mobile double lane closures along eastbound and westbound I-66 for crews to refresh lane striping.  Drivers should also expect periodic stoppages and slowdowns on ramps to and from I-66. 

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

I-66 East and West between Fairfax County Parkway and I-495

Sunday, October 13 – Thursday, October 17: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Mobile double lane closures along eastbound and westbound I-66 for crews to refresh lane striping.  Drivers should also expect periodic stoppages and slowdowns on ramps to and from I-66. 

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

Sunday, October 13 – Thursday, October 17: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Full closure of Vaden Drive bridge over I-66 for crews to demolish the bridge and construct a new bridge.

Sunday, October 6– Saturday, October 12: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two left lanes closed on westbound I-66 for new Gallows Road bridge construction in center median.  The ramp from the northbound I-495 Express Lanes to westbound I-66 will be closed nightly.  I-495 Express Lane North traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East to the Route 7 (Leesburg), take a left off the exit and stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West.
