ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

University Boulevard North and South from I-66 to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Gainesville

Monday, October 11, and Tuesday, October 12: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, October 13: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Thursday, October 14, and Friday, October 15: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One lane will be closed for roadway construction.

 

Route 29 North and South from University Boulevard to Heathcote Boulevard

Monday, October 11, and Tuesday, October 12: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wednesday, October 13: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Thursday, October 14, and Friday, October 15: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One lane will be closed for roadway construction.

 

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Cub Run

Daily through Friday, October 29: Eastbound 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m./Westbound 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North from Balls Ford Road to Battleview Parkway

Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for slope protection work.  Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes during the overnight hours.

 

I-66 West between Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) and Groveton Road

Tuesday, October 12, through Thursday, October 14: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Friday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for paving.

 

I-66 East and West from Route 29 (Lee Highway) Gainesville to Cub Run

Daily through Friday, October 29: Eastbound 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m./Westbound 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Monday, October 11, through Saturday, October 16: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for concrete deck pour.

 

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville North and South

Tuesday night, October 12, and Wednesday night, October 13: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed to exit the interstate (prior to the Route 29 exit) at Route 28 South, and continue south and follow signs to Route 29 North or South.  (This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.)

Thursday, October 14: 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Friday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Saturday, October 16: 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Route 29 South traffic will be directed farther south past the closed exit, make a U-turn at Stone Road, follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East. Route 29 North traffic will be directed to Route 28 North to I-66 East.

Saturday, October 16 at 10 p.m. through 2 p.m. Sunday, October 17

There will be a full closure of I-66 East at Route 29 Centreville from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. All traffic will be directed to exit at Route 29, stay to the right to Route 29 North, continue north to Route 28 North, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.  One lane of eastbound I-66 will reopen by 8 a.m., three lanes will reopen by 9 a.m.  All lanes will reopen by 2 p.m. Sunday.

Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14: 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Drivers will be detoured to Westfields Boulevard to reach Route 28 South and I-66 East.

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North

Tuesday night, October 12, through Thursday night, October 14: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 North, and stay to the right to Route 28 North. (This closure will not be implemented on nights when the detour conflicts with other closures.)

Friday, October 15: 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.

There will be a full closure of I-66 West at Route 28 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. All traffic will be direct to exit at Braddock Road/Walney Road, turn left at the traffic signal on to Braddock Road West, and the follow signs and turn left to I-66 West. The ramp to Route 28 North will remain open.  One lane of westbound I-66 will reopen by 6 a.m., two lanes will reopen by 7 a.m., and all lanes will reopen by 10 a.m.

 

Braddock Road/Walney Road between Newton Patent Drive and Cabells Mill Drive

Friday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Braddock Road and Walney Road will be closed with no through-traffic or access to the ramps to I-66 and Route 28. Drivers will be detoured to Westfields Boulevard to reach Route 28 South, I-66 West, and points on the other side of Route 28. 

 

Route 28 North to Braddock Road/Walney Road

Friday, October 15: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be d directed to continue farther north to the Westfields Boulevard Interchange. Drivers traveling to Braddock Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard West, then continue to Braddock Road. Drivers traveling to Walney Road will take the exit to Westfields Boulevard East, then turn right onto Walney Road.

 

I-66 East at Route 29 (Lee Highway)

Saturday, October 16 at 10 p.m. through 2 p.m. Sunday, October 17

There will be a full closure of I-66 East at Route 29 Centreville from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. All traffic will be directed to exit at Route 29, stay to the right to Route 29 North, continue north to Route 28 North, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.  One lane of eastbound I-66 will reopen by 8 a.m., three lanes will reopen by 9 a.m.  All lanes will reopen by 2 p.m. Sunday.

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Friday, October 8, and Saturday, October 9: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sunday, October 10, through Thursday, October 14: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, October 15, and Saturday, October 16: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Stringfellow Road will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 15 minutes during the overnight hours.

Tuesday night, October 12, and Wednesday night, October 13: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be direct to exit prior to the closure to I-66 West, take the exit to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road), stay to the left to Route 123 South and turn left at the traffic signal to Route 123 South, then stay to the left and turn left at the next traffic signal to I-66 East.

Tuesday night, October 12, through Friday night, October 15: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be farther west to the exit for Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Station, stay to the right onto Country Creek Road, continue onto Virginia Center Boulevard, then at the traffic signal turn left for Nutley Street North or turn right to Nutley Street South.

Tuesday night, October 12, and Saturday night, October 13: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed farther north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the intersection with Virginia Center Boulevard, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

I-66 East from Nutley Street to Gallows Road

Friday, October 15: 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Saturday, October 16: 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

One lane will be closed on eastbound I-66 beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, continuously through 9 a.m. Sunday for a traffic shift.   On Friday night, three lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and two lanes will be closed from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.  On Saturday night, three lanes will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and two lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

 

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY) / DUNN LORING

I-495 South at I-66

Friday, October 8: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Saturday, October 9: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Sunday, October 10: 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Initially, two lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work. On Friday and Saturday nights from midnight to 5 a.m. and on Sunday night from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., a full closure of southbound I-495 at I-66 will be implemented. All traffic will be directed to exit to I-66 West, travel to the exit to Nutley Street, stay to the left to Nutley Street South and turn left at the traffic signal onto southbound Nutley Street, stay to the right to the new loop ramp to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

Friday night, October 8, and Saturday night, October 9: Midnight to 5 a.m.

Sunday, October 10: 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left to Nutley Street South and turn left at the traffic signal onto southbound Nutley Street, then stay to the right to  the new loop ramp to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

Between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. each night, westbound I-66 will be closed at I-495.  All traffic will be directed to exit to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, travel about one mile and follow signs to I-495 South, and then exit to I-66 West.

Tuesday, October 12, through Thursday, October 14: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue north to the exit for Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to exit to I-495 South, and then exit to I-66 West.

Gallows Road North from Park Tower Drive to Cottage Street

Wednesday, October 13, and Thursday, October 14: 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

One lane will be closed for crews to shift northbound Gallows Road traffic to the new bridge over I-66.
