ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Groveton Road to Route 29 Gainesville

Monday, November 4 – Thursday, November 7: 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Three right lanes closed for demolition work on the University Boulevard bridge over I-66.

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

No significant traffic impacts scheduled.

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East from Compton Road to Route 29 Centreville

Monday, November 4 – Thursday, November 7: 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two right lanes closed for paving operations. 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville

Monday, November 4 – Thursday, November 7: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Temporary ramp closure for paving operations. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 28 North to Westfields Boulevard West, stay to the right for Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29.

Route 28 North between Route 29 and I-66

Sunday, November 3 – Monday, November 4: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed on northbound Route 28.  Drivers should expect periodic 20 minute stoppages and slowdowns.

Sunday, November 3: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North will be closed for crews to perform overhead bridge work.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, then stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West back to Route 28 North.

Monday, November 4: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns will occur during overnight hours on the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

Monday, November 4– Friday, November 8: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Virginia State Police will pace eastbound and westbound traffic in this area to a slow roll, with temporary stoppages possible, for blasting operations along I-66. Slow roll conditions should last for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, stoppages will also occur on the ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West, the ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East, and the ramp from Route 29 Centreville to I-66 East starting at 11 a.m.

Thursday, November 7 and Friday, November 8: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Virginia State Police will pace traffic on eastbound I-66 and on north and southbound Route 29 in this area to a slow roll, with temporary stoppages possible, for blasting operations at the Route 29 interchange. Slow roll conditions should last for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, stoppages will also occur on the ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 starting at 11 a.m.

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY)

Stringfellow Road between Fair Lakes Boulevard and Village Square Drive

Monday, November 4 – Friday, November 8: 9 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, November 8 at 9 p.m. through Monday, November 11 at 3 p.m.

The right lane of southbound Stringfellow Road will be closed for underground utility relocation.  The lane will be reopened on weekdays between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to accommodate the evening rush. 

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

No significant traffic impacts scheduled.

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-66 East and from Route 123 to Blake Lane

I-66 West from Cedar Lane to Blake Lane

Thursday, November 5: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed on eastbound and westbound I-66 for work on overhead Cox Communications line at Blake Lane.  Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns.

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

I-66 East from Blake Lane to Nutley Street

Sunday, November 3 – Thursday, November 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, November 8 – Saturday, November 9: 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Demolition of the Vaden Drive bridge over the Orange Line Metrorail tracks will require two lanes closured on I-66 East. All lanes will be reopened by 5 a.m. on weekdays.

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY)

I-66 West from I-495 to Gallows Road

Ramp from I-495 North Express Lanes to I-66 West

Monday, November 4 – Saturday, November 9: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two left lanes closed on westbound I-66 for new Gallows Road bridge construction in center median.  The ramp from the northbound I-495 Express Lanes to westbound I-66 will be closed nightly.  I-495 Express Lane North traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East to the Route 7 (Leesburg), take a left off the exit and stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West.
