ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to all traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

 

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

Ramp from Route 234 Business South to I-66 East

Monday, June 1, through Thursday, June 4: 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

The spur ramp from southbound Route 234 Business to eastbound I-66 will be closed. Traffic will be directed to continue further south on Route 234 Business, stay to the left and make a U-turn at the traffic signal for Balls Ford Road, back to I-66 East.

 

I-66 West near Bull Run

Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 6: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

Vandor Lane from Route 234 Business to Rest Area

Flagging operation for utility work.

 

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 West between Cub Run and Bull Run

Thursday, June 4 and Friday, June 5: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for crews to implement lane shifts.

 

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and Route 28 North and South for blasting operations.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

Nightly, through June 14

Monday through Friday: 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Saturday and Sunday: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The ramp will be closed nightly. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

 

Route 28 North from Braddock Road to Westfields Boulevard

Sunday, May 31, through Friday, June 5: 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for paving.

 

Route 28 South from Westfields Boulevard to Braddock Road

Wednesday, June 3: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for overhead gantry removal.  Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

I-66 East and West at Route 123

Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Full closure of eastbound and westbound I-66 for overhead bridge beam installation.   Traffic on I-66 East will be directed to take the exit for Route 123. At the traffic signal, follow police direction to continue across Route 123 to the ramp back to I-66 East. Traffic on I-66 West will be directed to take the exit for Route 123 South. At the traffic signal, follow police direction to continue across Route 123 to the ramp back to I-66 West.

 

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge. 

 

I-66 West from Gallows Road to Cedar Lane

Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Wednesday, June 3: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed during the overnight hours Monday and Tuesday (9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.). Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdown for overhead gantry removal.    A single lane will be closed during overnight hours Wednesday (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.) for bridge pier demolition.

 

I-66 East from Nutley Street to Cedar Lane

Saturday, May 30 at 8:30 p.m., through noon on Sunday, May 31

Monday, June 1, through Thursday, June 4: 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Saturday, June 6: 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Single lane closed for bridge demolition Saturday night, May 30 through Sunday morning, May 31 (8:30 p.m. to 11 a.m.), and Saturday morning, June 6 (5 a.m. to 9 a.m.).  Two lanes will be closed during overnight hours on Monday through Thursday (9 p.m. to 4 a.m.). Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdown Wednesday and Thursday nights for overhead gantry removal.

Two lanes will be closed for bridge construction
