ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to all traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and Route 28 North and South for blasting operations.

 

I-66 West from Route 28 to Route 29 Centreville

Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed for crane mobilization.

 

Route 28 South from Westfields Boulevard to Braddock Road

Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

Route 28 South from I-66 to Route 29

Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25: 8 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West

Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25: 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Drivers will be directed to continue farther south to Route 29 South, follow signs to I-66 West and make a left at the traffic signal to access I-66 West.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

Sunday, June 21, through Thursday, June 25: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed nightly. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

 

I-66 East and West between Route 28 and Stringfellow Road

Tuesday, June 23, through Friday, June 26: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for gantry removal.  Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

I-66 East and West between Route 28 and Stringfellow Road

Tuesday, June 23, through Friday, June 26: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for gantry removal.  Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

West Ox Road South from I-66 to Maze Lane

Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Two lanes closed for water line relocation.

 

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, June 26: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Three lanes closed for bridge work.  

 

I-66 East from Route 50 to Jermantown Road

Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The HOV lane will be closed for bridge pier construction.

Three lanes closed for overhead bridge work at Route 123.

 

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge. 

 

Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 East

Tuesday, June 23: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The ramp will be closed for overhead utility relocation.   Drivers will be detoured to take the exit for I-66 West, stay to the right and exit to Nutley Street South, and then stay to the right to exit to I-66 East.

Tuesday, June 23, through Thursday, June 25: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed for paving and traffic shift.  The ramp from southbound Nutley Street to I-66 West will be closed between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly.  Drivers will be will be detoured to take the exit for I-66 East, stay to the right and exit to Nutley Street North, and then stay to the right to exit to I-66 West.

Friday, June 19: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25: 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation and crane mobilization at Vaden Drive near the Vienna Metrorail Station. On Friday night, June 19, and Monday night, June 22, through Wednesday night, June 24, drivers should expect periodic 30-minute stoppages at Vaden Drive for crews to lift bridge beams into place.

I-66 West from Cedar Lane to west of Vaden Drive
Thursday, June 25: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
Friday, June 26: 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation and crane mobilization at Vaden Drive near the Vienna Metrorail Station. On Friday night, June 26, drivers should expect periodic 30-minute stoppages at Vaden Drive for crews to lift bridge beam into place.

 

I-66 East and West between east of Nutley Street and west of Gallows Road

Tuesday, June 23, through Thursday, June 25: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East and West will be reduced to one travel lane for utility relocation at Cedar. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns between midnight and 4 a.m.  

 

 

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY) / DUNN LORING

Monday, June 22, and Wednesday, June 24: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for utility work.  Traffic will be directed to take the exit for the southbound I-495 general purpose lanes

 

I-495 North and South from Route 29 to Route 7

Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for crane mobilization and bridge construction.
