ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to all traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 West from Route 29 Gainesville to University Boulevard

Sunday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 29: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for overhead bridge work at University Boulevard.

 

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Gainesville and Groveton Road

University Boulevard between Route 29 and Rail Line Court

Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and University Boulevard for blasting operations.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) to Route 29 Gainesville

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and Route 28 North and South for blasting operations.

Between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South from Fair Lake Boulevard to Westbrook Drive

HOV Ramp from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road

Monday, July 27, through Thursday, July 30: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, July 31: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Stringfellow Road will be reduced to two lanes, one in each direction.  The two open travel lanes will use the southbound lanes of Stringfellow Road under I-66.   The HOV ramp from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road will be right turn only from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. To go southbound during those hours, drivers will be directed to turn right onto northbound Stringfellow Road and make a U-turn at Fair Lakes Boulevard.

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

Route 50 East at I-66

I-66 West from Route 50 to Fairfax County Parkway

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Monday, July 27, through Thursday, July 30: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, July 31: 9:30 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for bridge construction.  On Thursday, July 30, and Friday, July 31, drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 30-minutes between midnight and 4 a.m. for crews to set bridge beams into place at Waples Mill Road.

 

I-66 East from West Ox Road to Waples Mill Road

Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for bridge construction.

 

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, July 24: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for bridge construction.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages.

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.

Right lane closed for bridge construction.

Thursday, July 30: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

One lane closed for crews to pour concrete for a new bridge pier.

 

Ramp from Gallows Road South to I-495 South

Friday, July 31: 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for paving operations.  Traffic will be directed to continue south on Gallows Road, stay to the left and make a U-turn at the traffic signal for the ramp to I-495 North.  Then stay to the right to follow signs to I-495 South.
