ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to all traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 West from Route 29 Gainesville to University Boulevard

Sunday, July 19, through Wednesday, July 22: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for overhead bridge work at University Boulevard.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) South

Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for paving.  Traffic will be directed to exit eastbound I-66 at Exit 44/Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) South, turn left on to Balls Ford Road to Sudley Road (Route 234 Business).

Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for paving.  Traffic will be detoured to Route 234 Business South, turn right at the third traffic signal onto Coverstone Drive, take the first right at Miramar Drive, turn right on Balls Ford Road, then turn left at the traffic signal on to northbound Route 234 Business.

 

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and Route 28 North and South for blasting operations.

 

I-66 West from Route 28 to Route 29 Centreville

Sunday, July 19: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for crews to implement lane shifts and a 10-day closure of the HOV lane. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

Route 28 North and South between I-66 and Route 29

Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The left lane will be closed for demolition of the median barrier.

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 is closed to provide extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to northbound Route 28

Between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

I-66 East and West at Stringfellow Road

Tuesday, July 14: 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Traffic on I-66 will be stopped in both directions simultaneously three times for up to 20 minutes each for overhead utility relocation.

Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, July 24: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Stringfellow Road will be reduced to two lanes, one in each direction.  The two open travel lanes will use the northbound lanes of Stringfellow Road under I-66.   The HOV ramp from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road will be right turn only from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Drivers will be directed to turn right onto northbound Stringfellow Road, stay to the left, and make a U-turn at Fair Lakes Boulevard onto southbound Stringfellow Road.

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

Route 50 East at I-66

The left lane will be closed for bridge abutment construction and utility work.

 

I-66 West from Route 50 to Fairfax County Parkway

The HOV lane will be closed for bridge pier construction.

I-66 East from Monument Drive to Waples Mill Road

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, July 24: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for bridge construction.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages.

 

I-66 East from Waples Mill Road to Jermantown Road

Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The HOV lane will be closed for bridge pier construction.

 

Roseforrest Drive between Route 123 and Rosehaven Street

Ongoing, starting Monday, July 20, through Saturday, July 25

Roseforrest Drive will be closed for utility work. Traffic will be directed to use Rosehaven Street, to Jermantown Road, to Route 123 (Chainbridge road) to get around closure.   

 

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge. 

 

Nutley Street North from Saintsbury Drive to Virginia Center Boulevard

Monday, July 20: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes closed for crews to implement lane shifts and long term traffic pattern change.  During overnight hours, the loop ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West will be permanently closed.  Traffic will be directed to use a new ramp and temporary traffic signal to access I-66 West.

 

I-66 West from I-495 to west of Vaden Drive

Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, July 24: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge pier construction at Cedar Lane and bridge beam installation at Vaden Drive near the Vienna Metrorail Station. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages and slowdowns.

 

I-66 East from Vaden Drive to Cedar Lane

Friday, July 24: 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Saturday, July 25: 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge pier demolition at Cedar Lane. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages and slowdowns.

 

I-66 West from Vaden Drive to Blake Lane

Tuesday, July 21, through Friday, July 24: 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY) / DUNN LORING

I-66 West from I-495 to west of Vaden Drive

Monday, July 20, through Thursday, July 23: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, July 24: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
