ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 East and West between University Boulevard and Route 234 (Prince William Parkway)

Monday, January 11, through Friday, January 15: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

I-66 West between Route 234 (Prince William Parkway) and University Boulevard

Wednesday, January 13, and Thursday, January 14: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for crews to shift barrier.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 East and West between University Boulevard and Route 234 (Prince William Parkway)

Monday, January 11, through Friday, January 15: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

One lane will be closed for overhead bridge demolition.

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Thursday, January 14, and Friday, January 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two lanes will be closed for crews to implement traffic shift.

 

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South

Thursday night, January 14, and Friday night, January 15: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Route 29 Centreville, turn left at traffic signal at the bottom of the ramp on to Route 29 North, continue on Route 29 North and stay to the right to exit to Route 28 South.

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East

Thursday night, January 14, and Friday night, January 15: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured further south on Route 28 to the exit for Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay to the right and exit to Route 28 North, to I-66 East.

 

Ramp from Braddock Road to Route 28 South

Thursday night, January 14, and Friday night, January 15: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Drivers will be directed to access Route 28 South via the Westfields Boulevard/Route 28 Interchange.

 

Route 28 North at I-66

Ongoing

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 will remain closed to provide an extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Monday, January 11, through Friday, January 15: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The right lane will be closed bridge work.

 

Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North at I-66

Monday, January 11, through Friday, January 15: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

One lane will be closed for utility work.

 

Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South at I-66

Tuesday, January 5, through Thursday, January 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, January 8: 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Three lanes closed for overhead bridge work.

 

I-66 West from Waples Mill Road to Route 50

Sunday, January 10, through Friday, January 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to a single travel lane for bridge beam installation at Route 50.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic short stoppages of up to 10 minutes between midnight at 4 a.m. to crews to set beams into place.

 

Route 50 East from West Ox Road to I-66

Sunday, January 10, through Friday, January 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 50 East will be reduced to a single travel lane for bridge beam installation at Route 50. Drivers should expect slowdowns and at least two stoppages of up to 20 minutes between midnight at 4 a.m. for crews to set beams into place.

 

Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West

Sunday, January 10, through Friday, January 15: 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be detour to the exit for West Ox Road North, stay to the right to take the exit for Route 50 East, and then follow signs to I-66 West. 

 

I-66 East from Route 50 to Waples Mill Road

Monday, January 11, through Friday, January 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work at Waples Mill Road.

 

I-66 West from Route 50 to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway)

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-66 East and West between Jermantown Road and Blake Lane

Monday, January 11, through Thursday, January 14: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, January 15: 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead utility work on the new Route 123 Bridge over I-66 and for demolition of the old Route 123 Bridge over I-66.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic 20 minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 123 North and South

Thursday, January 14, and Friday, January 15: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic will be detoured to the exit for Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to Nutley Street North, then stay to the left to the intersection with Virginia Center Boulevard and make a U-turn at the traffic signal on to Nutley Street South, then stay to the right to exit to I-66 West back to Route 123.

 

Ramp from Route 123 North and South to I-66 East

Thursday, January 14, and Friday, January 15: midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed.  Traffic on southbound Route 123 will be directed to take the exit for I-66 West, to Route 50 East, stay to the left to take the exit to I-66 East. 

 

Right-turn lane from Route 123 South to Rose Forest Drive

I-66 East from Blake Lane to Nutley Street

I-66 East and West will be reduced to a single travel lane for overhead bridge work at Vaden Drive.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.
