 ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Route 29 from Groveton Road to University Boulevard

Monday, Dec. 9, through Saturday, Dec. 14: 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Three right lanes closed for demolition work on the University Boulevard bridge over I-66.

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West at Bull Run

Monday, Dec. 9, through Thursday, Dec. 12: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 West for blasting operations.

I-66 East between Sudley Road and Bull Run Rest Stop

Friday, Dec. 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

 ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East

Monday, Dec. 9, through Friday, Dec. 13: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West for blasting operations. Additionally, stoppages will occur on the ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East.

I-66 East at Route 29 Centreville

Route 29 North at Stone Road

Route 29 South at Trinity Parkway

Monday, Dec. 9, through Friday, Dec. 13: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and on Route 29 North and South for blasting operations at the Route 29 Interchange.

I-66 West between Compton Road and Bull Run Drive

Tuesday, Dec. 10: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

 I-66 East between Compton Road and Route 28

Wednesday, Dec. 11: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

 I-66 East between Compton Road and Route 29 Centreville

Thursday, Dec. 12: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

Route 29 Centreville at I-66

Starting 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, through 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16

Northbound and Southbound Route 29 will be narrowed to a single lane and northbound Route 29 traffic will be diverted to one lane on the southbound side of Route 29 at I-66.  Route 29 South will operate with single lane, two-way traffic.  All ramps to and from I-66 will be right-turn in and right-turn out only.

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY)

Stringfellow Road between Fair Lakes Boulevard and Village Square Drive

Monday, Dec. 9, through Friday, Dec. 13: 9 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 13, from 9 p.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16

The right lane of southbound Stringfellow Road will be closed for underground utility relocation. The lane will be reopened weekdays between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. to accommodate the evening rush. 

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

I-66 West between Route 123 and Route 50

Monday, Dec. 9: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-66 West between Route 123 and Route 50

Monday, Dec. 9: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

I-66 West from Cedar Lane to Vaden Drive

Friday, Dec.13, and Saturday, Dec. 14: 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Sunday, Dec. 15: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three right lanes will be closed for crews to implement lane shifts.

Cedar Lane South between Cottage Street and Hilltop Road

Sunday, Dec. 8: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The southbound lane of Cedar Lane between Cottage Street and Hilltop Road will be closed for crosswalk striping.   Two-way traffic will be maintained with flagging operations.

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY)

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East

Monday, Dec. 9: midnight – 4 a.m.

The ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East will be closed for crews to set concrete barrier. Drivers will be directed to take the exit for I-66 West, then take the exit for southbound Nutley Street, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.

Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 South Express Lanes

Wednesday, Dec. 11: 9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.

The ramp from I-66 East to the I-495 South Express Lanes will be closed for crews to set concrete barrier.  Drivers will be directed to take the exit for the I-495 South general-purpose lanes.  

 Ramp from Gallows Road South to I-495 South

Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The ramp from southbound Gallows Road to I-495 South will be closed for underground utility work. Drivers will be directed to continue south on Gallows Road, stay to the left and make a U-turn under police direction at the traffic signal for I-495 North, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 South.
