ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Manassas Rest Area to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to all traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 East and West from Prince William Parkway to Route 29 Gainesville

Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for overhead bridge work at University Boulevard.

 

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Gainesville and Groveton Road

University Boulevard between Route 29 and Rail Line Court

Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Manassas Rest Area to Route 29 Gainesville

Starting 9 p.m. Friday, August 14, through Monday, August 17 at 5 a.m.

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for bridge works.  The single right lane will be closed starting around 9 p.m. Friday night, August 14, through 5 a.m. Monday morning, August 17.  Between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly (4 a.m. Monday morning), two lanes will be closed.

 

I-66 West from Compton Road to Bull Run

Starting 10 p.m. Friday, August 14, through Monday, August 17 at 5 a.m.

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for bridge works.  The single right lane will be closed starting around 10 p.m. Friday night, August 14, through 5 a.m. Monday morning, August 17.  Between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly (4 a.m. Monday morning), two lanes will be closed.

 

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

I-66 East and West from Between Route 28 and Compton Road

Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two right lanes will be closed for pavement operations at the I-66/Route 29 Centreville Interchange.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville

Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for paving and setting concrete barrier. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 29.

 

Ramp from Route 29 Centreville North to I-66 West

Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for paving and setting concrete barrier. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, then to Route 286 North, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Route 28 North and South between E.C. Lawrence Park Athletic Fields and Route 29

Monday, August 10, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 28 North and South will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction for bridge beam placement at Braddock Road/Walney Road. Two-way traffic will run on the northbound lanes of Route 28.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

Monday, August 10, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West 

Monday, August 10, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 South, follow signs to I-66 West and make a left at the traffic signal to access I-66 West.

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East 

Monday, August 10, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp and two left turn lanes from Route 28 South to I-66 East will be closed. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right and follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

 

Braddock Road between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28

Monday, August 10, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Starting 10 p.m. Friday, August 14, through Monday, August 17 at 5 a.m.

Braddock Road will be closed between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28. Traffic will be directed to Westfields Boulevard to access Braddock Road and/or Route 28.

 

Route 28 South between Westfields Boulevard and Route 29 Centreville

Friday, August 14: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 28 South will be reduced to a single lane for overhead bridge work.

 

Route 28 North at I-66

Ongoing

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 is closed to provide extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to northbound Route 28

 

Route 28 North from I-66 to Westfields Boulevard

Ongoing

Between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

Ramp from Route 28 North and South to I-66 East

Sunday, August 9, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15: 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

One lane of two on the ramp from Route 28 North and South to I-66 East will be closed for material hauling. Drivers should expect periodic brief stoppages for trucks to enter roadway.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Ramp from I-66 West to Monument Drive

Monday, August 10: 10 p.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The HOV ramp will be closed for paving operations.

 

I-66 West from Route 50 to Route 286

Monday, August 10: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Wednesday, August 12, and Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for crews to implement traffic shift.

Three lanes will be closed for bridge construction.  Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20-minutes between 10:30 p.m. and 4 a.m.

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

I-66 East from Waples Mill Road to Jermantown Road

Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The HOV lane will be closed for bridge pier construction.

 

I-66 East from Jermantown Road to Route 123

Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed for overhead bridge work.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic 20-minute stoppages between midnight and 4 a.m.

 

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge. 

 

I-66 East from Vaden Drive to Cedar Lane

Monday, August 10, through Thursday, August 13: 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for bridge beam installation at Cedar Lane.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic 30-minute stoppages between 10 p.m. and 3:30 a.m.

Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sunday, August 9, through Thursday, August 13: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 West from I-495 to Cedar Lane

Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sunday, August 9, through Thursday, August 13: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

One left land will be closed Friday night, Aug. 7, and Saturday night, Aug. 8 for bridge pier construction at Cedar Lane.   On Sunday night, Aug. 9, through Thursday night, Aug. 13, I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane nightly

 

I-495 North from Route 29/Lee Highway to I-66

Tuesday, August 11, through Friday, August 14: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Two lanes closed for bridge construction.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 South Express Lanes

Thursday, August 13: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for utility work. Traffic will be directed to take the I-495 South Express Lanes

 

I-66 East from Gallows Road to I-495

Friday, August 14: 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work. Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
