ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Groveton Road

Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work at University Boulevard.

 

I-66 West from Bull Run Drive to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Groveton Road

Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work at University Boulevard.

 

I-66 West from Compton Road to Bull Run 

Starting 10 p.m. Friday, August 21, continuously through

Monday, August 24 at 5 a.m.

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for bridge work. The right lane will be closed starting around 10 p.m. Friday night, August 21, through 5 a.m. Monday morning, August 24. Between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly (4 a.m. Monday), two lanes will be closed.

 

ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road 

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic for blasting operations.

 

I-66 East from Compton Road to Route 29 Centreville

Wednesday, August 19, through Sunday, August 23: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for crews to implement lanes shifts and a multi-week closure of the HOV lane.

 

I-66 East from Cub Run to Route 29 Centreville

Saturday, August 22: 8 p.m. to 10 a.m.

Sunday, August 23: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Monday, August 24, through Thursday, August 27: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29: 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. 

I-66 East will be reduced to two travel lanes for paving operations.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville

Sunday, August 23, through Friday, August 28: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for paving and utility work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, and then follow signs to Route 29.

 

I-66 East and West at Route 29 Centreville

Friday, August 21, and Friday, August 28: 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Saturday, August 22, and Saturday, August 29:  9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Sunday, August 23, and Sunday, August 30: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

One right lane will be closed for bridge beam installation on I-66 bridges over Route 29 Centreville.

 

Route 29 Centreville North and South at I-66

Starting 9 p.m. Friday, August 21, continuously through

5 a.m. Monday, August 24

Route 29 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction under I-66 to allow for overhead bridge beam installation. Two-way traffic will run in the northbound lanes of Route 29. Drivers using ramps to and from I-66 will not be allowed to make left turns during this time. Route 29 Centreville North and South at I-66

Starting 9 p.m. Friday, August 28, continuously through

5 a.m. Monday, August 31

Route 29 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction under I-66 to allow for overhead bridge beam installation. Two-way traffic will run in the southbound lanes of Route 29. Drivers using ramps to and from I-66 will not be allowed to make left turns during this time.

 

Route 29 North from Stone Road to Ramp to I-66 West

Starting 9 a.m. Friday, August 28, continuously through

5 a.m. Monday, August 31

One right lane will be closed for bridge beam delivery.

 

I-66 West from Bull Run Drive to Route 29 Gainesville

Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28: 9 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The left lane will be closed for overhead bridge work.

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

Tuesday, August 25, through Thursday, August 27: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for pavement striping. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

 

Ramp from Route 28 North and South to I-66 East

Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22: 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

One lane of two on the ramp from Route 28 North and South to I-66 East will be closed for material hauling. Drivers should expect periodic brief stoppages for trucks to enter roadway.

 

Route 28 North from Route 29 to I-66

Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28

Between 8 p.m. and 2 p.m. nightly, one lane will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and striping. Between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed.

 

Ramp from Route 29 South to Route 28 North

Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and striping. Traffic will be directed to continue south on Route 29, stay to the left and make a U-turn at the traffic signal at the ramp to Route 28 South, stay to the right and follow signs for Route 28 North.

 

Route 28 North at I-66

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 will remain closed to provide an extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North.

 

Route 28 North from I-66 to Westfields Boulevard

Between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

Stringfellow Road North and South at I-66

Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The right lane will be closed for overhead bridge work.

 

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Monday, August 24, through Thursday, August 27: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, August 28: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work and for crews to implement lane shifts.

 

I-66 East from West Ox Road to Waples Mill Road

I-66 West from Jermantown Road to Route 50

Monday, August 24, through Thursday, August 27: 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Friday, August 28: 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for overhead bridge work and for crews to implement lane shifts.

 

I-66 West from Blake Lane to Route 123

Sunday, August 23: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two right lanes will be closed for crews to shift barrier and set pavement markings.

 

Ramp from Route 123 North and South to I-66 East

Sunday, August 23: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for restriping. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, then to Route 50 East, stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 East.

 

Ramp from Route 123 South to I-66 West

Wednesday, August 26: Midnight to 4 a.m.

The ramp will be closed for barrier installation. Traffic will be directed to continue farther south, stay to the right, and then turn right at the traffic signal onto the ramp from Route 123 North to I-66 West.

 

ROUTE 243 (NUTLEY STREET) / VIENNA

Cedar Lane between Hilltop Drive and Cottage Street

Cedar Lane over I-66 will be closed for demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.

 

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY) / DUNN LORING

Gallows Road between Belleforest Drive and Stenhouse Place

Starting 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, continuously through

8 a.m. Monday, August 24

Gallows Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction for bridge beam installation for the new Gallows Road Bridge. Two-way traffic will run in the southbound lanes of Gallows Road. Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-66 East will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work at Gallows Road, paving, barrier installation and other construction activities. Drivers should expect brief periodic stoppages nightly.

 

I-66 West from Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) to Gallows Road

Monday, August 24, through Thursday, August 27: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, August 28: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

I-66 West will be reduced to one travel lane for overhead bridge work at Gallows Road. Drivers should expect periodic stoppages of up to 20 minutes between 10 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. nightly.

 

Ramp from 495 Express Lane North to I-66 West

Monday, August 24, through Thursday, August 27: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Friday, August 28: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. 

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East, to Route 7, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal, then stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West

Friday, August 28: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be directed farther south to Route 50 West, stay to the right and exit to Gallows Road North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, travel about two miles and make a right onto Nutley Street North, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Gallows Road between Belleforest Drive and Stenhouse Place

Monday, August 24, through Friday, August 28: 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Gallows Road over I-66 will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction during overnight hours for bridge beam installation for the new Gallows Road Bridge. Two-way traffic will run in the southbound lanes of Gallows Road. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. a flagger will alternate a single lane of traffic in both directions.

 

I-495 North from Route 29 to I-66

Tuesday, August 25, through Friday, August 28: 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
