ROUTE 29 (LEE HIGHWAY) / GAINESVILLE

I-66 West from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) to Route 29 Gainesville

Ongoing

Single and multi-lane closures will be implemented for extended paving operations. The HOV lane will be closed indefinitely. Between noon and 8 p.m. daily, three travel lanes will be open to all traffic. Between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly, three lanes will be closed, leaving one travel lane open. Between 6 a.m. and noon daily, two lanes will be closed, leaving two travel lanes open.

 

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Gainesville and Groveton Road

University Boulevard between Route 29 and Rail Line Court

Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and University Boulevard for blasting operations.

 

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

I-66 West from Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) to Route 29 Gainesville

I-66 East and West between Route 29 Centreville and Stringfellow Road

Route 28 North and South between Route 29 and Braddock Road

Monday, August 3, through Friday, July 31: 11 a.m. to noon

Temporary 15-minute stoppages of traffic on I-66 East and West, and Route 28 North and South for blasting operations.

 

I-66 East and West from Between Route 28 and Compton Road

Two right lanes closed for pavement operations at Route 29 Centreville Interchange.

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville

Tuesday, August 4, through Thursday, August 6: midnight to 4 a.m.

Ramp closure for paving and barrier setting. Traffic will be directed to continue on I-66 East, exit onto Fairfax County Parkway North, keep right back onto I-66 West, and take the exit for Route 29.

 

Ramp from Route 29 Centreville North to I-66 West

Tuesday, August 4, through Thursday, August 6: midnight to 4 a.m.

Ramp closure for paving and barrier setting. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East, then directed to exit onto Fairfax County Parkway North, and keep right back onto I-66 West.

 

Route 28 North and South between E.C. Lawrence Park Athletic Fields and Route 29/ Lee Highway

Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 28 North and South will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction for bridge beam placement at Bradock Road/Walney Road. All traffic will run on the northbound lanes of Route 28.  

 

Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

 

Ramp will be closure for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West

Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp will be closed. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 South, follow signs to I-66 West and make a left at the traffic signal to access I-66 West

 

Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East

Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The ramp and two left turn lanes from Route 28 South to I-66 East will be closed.

Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay right for Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

 

Braddock Road between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28

Monday, August 3, through Thursday, August 6: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Broddock Road will be closed between Newton Patent Drive and Route 28.

Traffic will be directed to Westfields Boulevard to access Braddock Road and/or Route 28.

 

Route 28 South between Westfields and Route 29/Lee Highway

Friday, August, 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Route 28 South will be reduced to a single lane for overhead bridge work.

 

Route 28 North at I-66

Ongoing

The right lane of Route 28 North at I-66 is closed to provide extended merge lane for the ramp from I-66 East to northbound Route 28

 

Route 28 North from I-66 to Westfields Boulevard

Ongoing

Between 8 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. nightly, two lanes will be closed for crews to implement a traffic shift and paving. Between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily, one lane will be closed.

 

Ramp from Route 28 North and South to I-66 East

Sunday, August 2, through Thursday, August 6: 9 p..m to 5 a.m.

Friday, August 7 to  Saturday, August 8: 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

One lane of two on the ramp from Route 28 North and South to I-66 East will close for material hauling. Drivers should expect periodic slow downs and stoppages of 1 to 2 minutes.

 

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY) / FAIR LAKES

No impactful work scheduled

 

ROUTE 50 / FAIRFAX

Three lanes will be closed for bridge construction.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 30-minutes between 10:30 p.m. and 4 a.m for crews to set bridge beams into place at Waples Mill Road.

 

I-66 East from West Ox Road to Waples Mill Road

Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Three lanes will be closed for bridge construction.  Drivers should expect slowdowns and periodic stoppages of up to 30-minutes between 10:30 p.m. and 4 a.m. (for crews to set bridge beams into place at Waples Mill Road.

 

 

ROUTE 123 (CHAIN BRIDGE ROAD) / OAKTON – CITY OF FAIRFAX

 

I-66 East from Waples Mill Road to Jermantown Road

Monday, August 3, through Friday, August 7: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The HOV lane will be closed for bridge pier construction.

 

 

I-66 West from Jermantown to Route 50

Monday, August 3 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
