ROUTE 29 / GAINESVILLE

I-66 East and West from Route 29 Gainesville to Route 234 Business (Sudley Rd)

Monday, August 19 – Thursday, August 22: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Virginia State Police will pace eastbound and westbound traffic in this area to a slow roll, with temporary stoppages possible, for blasting operations along I-66 between University Boulevard and Prince William Parkway. Slow roll conditions should last for approximately 15 minutes. Additionally, stoppages will also occur on the ramps from Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) to I-66 West and from Route 29 in Gainesville to I-66 East starting at 11 a.m. Northbound and southbound University Boulevard and northbound Prince William Parkway near I-66 may be blocked as well.

ROUTE 234 BUSINESS (SUDLEY ROAD) / MANASSAS

Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South at I-66

Monday, August 19 – Wednesday, August 21: 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Full closure of northbound and southbound Sudley Road at I-66 to install a crane and lift bridge beams for new collector-distributor road along westbound I-66.  The ramp from I-66 West to southbound Sudley Road will also be closed.

Northbound Sudley Road traffic will be detoured to I-66 East to Route 29 South in Centreville. Make a left at the traffic signal and stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 234 North.

Southbound Sudley Road traffic will be detoured to I-66 West to the exit for Route 29 North in Gainesville. Make a left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, stay to the right for I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 234 South.

I-66 West traffic heading to southbound Sudley Road will be detoured farther west to the exit for Route 29 North in Gainesville, make a left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, stay to the right for I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 234 South.

Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) South from Manassas Battlefield to I-66

Beginning Tuesday, August 13 through Wednesday, August 21

Single left lane closed on southbound Sudley Road from Manassas Battlefield to I-66 to install a crane and bridge beams.

ROUTE 28 (SULLY ROAD) / CENTREVILLE

I-66 West from Compton Road to Bull Run Rest Stop

Wednesday, August 21: 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Three lanes closed to implement long-term lane shifts for construction. Drivers should expect occasional 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns along westbound I-66.

I-66 East from Compton Road to Route 28

Thursday, August 22: 9 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Friday, August 23: 9 p.m. – 9 a.m.

Three lanes closed to implement long-term lane shifts for construction. Drivers should expect occasional 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns along eastbound I-66.

ROUTE 286 (FAIRFAX COUNTY PARKWAY)

I-495 (CAPITAL BELTWAY)

I-66 West from I-495 to Gallows Road

Ramp from I-495 North Express Lanes to I-66 West

Sunday, August 18 – Friday, August 23: 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Two left lanes closed on westbound I-66 for new Gallows Road bridge construction in center median.  The ramp from the northbound I-495 Express Lanes to westbound I-66 will be closed nightly.  I-495 Express Lane North traffic will be detoured to the exit for I-66 East to the Route 7 (Leesburg), take a left off the exit and stay to the right to follow signs to I-66 West.
